About
Our Commitment
We are committed to helping parents raise sexually healthy children. Through workshops, educational videos, and private coaching sessions, we give parents the tools they need to have open, honest, and age-appropriate conversations with their children about sexuality.
Guiding Principles
Sexuality is a lifelong, natural and integral part of who we are as human beings.
Children deserves access to positive, accurate, age-and-developmentally-appropriate information about sex and sexuality.
Parents who speak openly and honestly about sexuality with their children strengthen the parent-child bond.
Access to positive sex education produces what our society needs: sexually healthy adolescents and adults.
Hi! I’ve been a sexuality educator and trainer for 17 years.
My dedication to this work happened early on in my career. While working at a health fair, I was approached by a 10-year-old boy who was clearly very worried and hesitant to speak.
About Emi, owner
He had just noticed his very normal morning erections, but he had no idea that was usual for a boy his age. I explained, matter of factly, what was happening in his body and why. Relief washed over his face!
Becoming a parent has served as my greatest guide in the challenges that other parents face while positively parenting their children. Many children experience sexual trauma of one kind or another, and that can lead to feelings of shame, blame, and pain in many areas of their lives. I am dedicated to helping parents deliver positive messages about sexuality and open lines of communication so that children don’t have to travel this path alone without the guidance of parents and loving adults.
I’m certified as a sexuality educator by AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists), and hold a master’s degree in counseling. I have served as the Director of Education for PPMET. I was the “Sexperta” (the Sexpert) on Nashville’s #1 Spanish language radio station; I answered callers questions about sexual health for 3 years. I currently serve as coordinator for the Nashville Alliance for Sexual Health and founded Talk and Thrive Education in 2012.
